Angela Scanlon is married to eco-entrepreneur, Roy Horgan. The pair tied the knot in June 2014. Although they have been quite private about their ceremony, they have shared a few photos online.

Roy grew up in County Cork, Ireland. He has a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance, a Diploma in Stockbroking, and a Diploma in International Selling.

His career began in corporate banking. By the time he left banking in 2006, he had managed and invested €2 billion in various assets across Europe and North America.

Roy co-founded a dye-sensitized solar cell firm, SolarPrint, a company specialized in the development of self-powered indoor sensors.

He also founded MarketHub Technologies Limited in 2013 which was later acquired by a French digital pricing company SES-imagotag plc.

Scanlon initially broadcast on Irish television, presenting a number of programs on RTE including her first major documentary; “Oi Ginger!” in 2014.

After “Oi Ginger!”, “Angela Scanlon: Full Frontal” was her follow-up series airing in October 2014, addressing subjects sometimes considered taboo.

Later in 2014, she hosted London Fashion Weekend for a third time. Since 2016, she has appeared as a reporter on The One Show, and presented in the absence of Alex Jones.

In 2017, Scanlon was appointed as a Garnier ambassador. From 2018 to 2021, she hosted her own BBC Radio 2 show on Sunday mornings from 4 to 6 am

In 2019, Scanlon started presenting for BBC Two Your Home Made Perfect, a home renovation series. In 2022, she appeared on BBC1’s The Wheel as a guest expert on redheads.

In 2023 Scanlon was a contestant on the twenty-first series of Strictly Come Dancing. In September 2023, she hit the headlines after accidentally injuring her dance partner, Carlos Gu.

Scanlon and her dance partner suffered a rehearsal mishap just hours before Saturday, September 30 live show. The Irish TV presenter left Carlos with a bloody nose after an accidental clash in the practice studio.
