Instagram is the great new kid. Millennials are moving away from Facebook, but they still love Instagram. It’s a visual medium and of course, #brands want to get in on the action. It is just natural.
But the cool kid that Instagram is, it’s completely chill about everything. Instagram likes it, whatever.
However, for you, the social media marketer who said “we need an Instagram presence,” things aren’t quite as cold. To manage multiple accounts, you must sign out and back in. This can start to become painful very quickly.
If you’re on Android, we have a solution to make it a little less daunting. Using an app called Instwogram, you can run an additional Instagram account on your device (the first one is the official Instagram app).
How to install Instagram
Instwogram isn’t available on the Play Store for obvious reasons (it lets you do something Instagram doesn’t approve of). But thanks to Android’s open nature and a smart developer, you can run it.
Instwogram essentially clones the Instagram app but manages to stay away from the official app. It bypasses Android’s limitation that says you can’t run two instances of the same app. Literally everything in the app is the same. It also means that the Instwogram app itself will be stable and familiar to use.

Before you can install apps, you need to enable installation of apps from unknown sources. Go Setting -> Protect and activate Unknown sources. More on that here.
On your phone, go to the XDA page for Instwogram and scroll down until you find the download link. At the time of writing, the text said Download media and latest version is 6.18.0 (direct link here).
Download the APK and tap on the downloaded file to start the installation process. Once the installation is done, open the app.
Set up and use Instagram
When you launch the app, you’ll see the familiar sign-up or login screen for Instagram.
If you already have an account, please login or register. Now you are free to upload photos, videos, comment on posts, like them, etc
Instagram is active.
Instagram can do so much more
This section is purely for professional Android users and it is purely an add-on. If you are rooted and have Xposed installed, you can download an add-on from Xposed called Instagram Downloader that will allow you to download photos and videos from Instagram.
