In character as Manuel, Sachs recorded three singles, the first of which was “Manuel’s Good Food Guide” in 1977, the cover of which featured him. The tunes were co-written by Sachs.

He was featured on This Is Your Life in 1980 after Eamonn Andrews surprised him during a personal appearance as Manuel at the HMV shop on Oxford Street in London.

Sachs was frequently heard narrating radio and television documentaries, such as the five seasons of the BAFTA Award-winning Troubleshooter, a BBC business television series hosted by Sir John Harvey-Jones, and the…from Hell series on ITV.
