All Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer maps

If you’re looking forward to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, you’ll want to get up to speed on all the multiplayer maps.

Old favourites from the classic Modern Warfare 2 are returning. Additionally, there are some bigger-scale warfare maps to run through in the game. Overall, there should be plenty of maps for fans of all flavours to enjoy in MW3 this year.

Here are all of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer maps that we know about so far.

This year, almost all of the multiplayer maps are based on the 2009 Modern Warfare 2’s list. All 16 launch maps from the original Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 are returning with modernized visuals and mechanics. However, there will be 12 6v6 maps that will be featured during post-launch live seasons.

Strangely, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 (2023) is predominantly recapping the second game with its multiplayer mode. The Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer maps include:

  • Afghan
  • Derail
  • Estate
  • Favela
  • Karachi
  • Highrise
  • Invasion
  • Quarry
  • Rundown
  • Rust
  • Scrapyard
  • Skidrow
  • Sub Base
  • Terminal
  • Underpass
  • Wasteland

16 launch maps for the 6v6 multiplayer modes is quite a lot. Hopefully, there’s one or two Modern Warfare 2 maps you absolutely love.

According to Game Atlas, there are four huge Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer maps for the Ground War and Invasion modes. They include:

  • Launch Facility
  • Orlov Military Base
  • Popov Power Plant
  • Resort

When you account for all of the Modern Warfaree 3 maps, this marks 20 at launch and then more than 12 maps post-launch as each post-launch season passes.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 primarily featuring past maps does feel like a slap in the face for some players. It seems lazy. However, the remake of these beloved maps might be enough for Call of Duty players, who cherish Modern Warfare 2, one of the most well-regarded entries in the series.

If you’re not satisfied, you should also know there’s an open world zombies mode with multiple teams helping each other and a new campaign that should round off the trilogy.

Unfortunately, if you want to take this game on the go, there won’t be a Nintendo Switch version, at least at the time of writing. At least the annoying riot shields seem to be taken out of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

We will update this guide as more multiplayer maps are added to Modern Warfare 3.
