He’s a Russian professional ice hockey left winger and captain of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League. Alex Ovechkin is nicknamed Ovi and the Great Eight in reference to his jersey number.
He’s widely regarded as one of the greatest goal-scorers of all time. As of June 2021, Ovechkin is currently studying for and is close to obtaining a Doctor of Sciences, the Russian equivalent of a Ph.D. or higher doctorate. Ovechkin’s field of study is Pedagogical Sciences.
