Danish actor, model and photographer, Alex Hogh Andersen was born on May 20th, 1994 and raised in the small town of Skaelskør in the western part of Sjælland in Denmark, Andersen discovered his love of acting while studying drama at school.
He participated in many musical-oriented plays and was fortunate to gain a lot of experience with many big roles. Like his peers, he began auditioning for film roles.
Andersen became aware of the differences between acting in front of a camera and live performances at the age of 17. He was inspired by this to study film and media at the University of Copenhagen.
He enrolled in college in 2014 but left after the first semester to work on Vikings in Ireland in 2015.
His most famous performance was as Ivar the Boneless in the historical drama Vikings on television (2016–2020).
He made his acting debut in the Danish television series Scenen Er Din. In 2015, he portrayed the lead role in the Danish drama A War.
Initially rose to recognition in 2016 after he was cast as Ivar the Boneless in the History channel’s Vikings. In the Danish television series Tvillingerne & Julemanden, he also played a recurrent part.
