. However, sometimes we tend to “undervalue” the text in our presentations when all we need is to make a few small changes to make it really stand out.
Let’s take a look at some tips that show you how you can make your text really stand out in presentations using iWork Keynote.
Make entire text stand out on any background
Our first tip can do the magic to make text stand out when you need/want it to be the same color as the background. Normally we avoid this because the text inevitably gets lost and becomes unnoticeable if the background colors are too similar, but with clever use of objects and gradients we can rotate this situation and make it look even better than originally intended.
As you can see, we started with some text on a slide. Note that the text color is too similar to the background color. Normally, you can change the color of the text or can highlight it, but the idea here is to keep your text as you originally intended while presenting it in a more elegant way.
What you have to do next is insert an object into your slide. For this you can use Shape button.
After the object is inserted (a square in this case), stretch the object to fit your slide and cover the text. Then make it black and click Backside to switch it to the background.
Note: All colors, shadows, objects and fonts used in this article are subject to change. Experiment as much as you like until you get the best results for you.
Now, with the object selected, open inspect control panel and click Slope checker navigation. There, under Pour until it’s fullselect Gradient fill select.
This will allow you to choose the color you want for the top and bottom of the object, as well as the opacity for each end. In this example, I left the bottom of the object intact.
However, for the top part, I left it black, But i turned opacity level is zero to make the object completely transparent at the top.
As you can see, the end result is quite nice and much nicer than the beginning. The gradient behind the text fades from black to fully transparent, making the text really stand out even though it’s also black.
Make a piece of text stand out from the rest
Suppose that, instead of just one sentence on your slide, you have a whole paragraph that is very important but also too long. The best thing to do in this case is to highlight some parts of the text with style instead of using simple methods like highlighting or just underlining the text in question, both of which are boring. boring and not original.
To do this, first decide which part of the current text you want to focus on. Then duplicate the slide and select the second slide to work on, keeping the first slide intact.
Now, with the important text selected on your second slide, open inspect control panel and click Text Checker navigation. There, give your text what I call a “transitional” format, which is like the middle point between its initial state and its final presentation.
In this case, I simply chose to make the text all black so it looks like it’s partially fading in the background as it transitions from the first slide to the second.
Next, create another copy of the first slide, which we will use as the last slide for this example. Here, select the same text as before and use inspect panel, give it a different format that stands out from the rest of the text.
Now click on the first slide on the left sidebar of Keynote and on inspect control panel, select Slide Checker navigation.
above forward section, select dissolve effects (please choose any other effect you like) and choose whether you want the slides to transition manually or automatically. Then click on the second slide and repeat the process.
The end result is that your selected text will stand out clearly from the rest of your presentation, which can be of great help to any particular point you want.
