Baldur’s Gate 3 has quickly become one of the most popular games of 2023, and while a modding scene was already present during early access, it’s really kicking off as more creatives add new features to the game’s already mammoth amount of content.
While official modding tools aren’t yet released, BG3’s community has released plenty of cool improvements and additions to the experience that you absolutely need to check out in a playthrough, so check out the best Baldur’s Gate 3 mods so far below.

How to download & install mods in Baldur’s Gate 3

There are various ways to install mods for Baldur’s Gate 3, with the most common being to download the mod files and drag them into the ‘Mods’ folder located within the game’s directory.
However, there is a much easier way of doing this if you are new to modding: utilising a mod manager. We’ll cover this for the Baldur’s Gate 3 Nexus, which is the best site for downloading mods for the game right now.
- Download the Vortex mod manager
- Open the app and authorise it by logging into your Nexus account
- In the Vortex dashboard, click “Select a game to manage”
- Vortex will scan your PC for installed games it supports, finding Baldur’s Gate 3 automatically
- Next, select the BG3 image to enable mod management
- It will then recommend some necessary mods, so click ‘Download’ to get them
- Now head to the Nexus site to download the specific mods you want
