Zach Johnson Social Media: Zach Johnson, officially known as Zachary Harris Johnson is an American professional golfer.

He developed a passion for playing golf at a younger age, has been consistent throughout his career, and has become one of the most sought-after American golfers.

At this time of writing (Thursday, 31 August 2023), Johnson has 12 victories on the PGA Tour, including two major championships, the 2007 Masters and the 2015 Open Championship.

He became a professional golfer in 1998 and played on the developmental tour circuit, including the Prairie Golf Tour and Hooters Tour, where he won the final three regular-season events in 2001.

In 2003, he topped the money list on the Nationwide Tour with then-record earnings of $494,882, earning an automatic promotion to the PGA Tour.

A few weeks after winning the Masters, he won for the 3rd time on tour at the AT&T Classic. Following the win, Johnson moved from 15th to 13th in the world rankings.

In 2009, Johnson won the Sony Open in Hawaii for his 5th victory on the PGA Tour, and successfully defended his title at the Valero Texas Open in May 2009.

In 2010, on the PGA Tour, Johnson made 10 of his first eleven cuts without any significant results. In June 2010, he won the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, his 7th PGA Tour victory.

In 2012, Johnson won the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial for the 2nd time in his career. In December 2013, he had a playoff victory over Tiger Woods at the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge

The win moved him into the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking for the first time in his career. He had his 11th career victory in January 2014 with a win at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.

With the above-mentioned victory, Johnson moved up to a career-high 7th in the Official World Golf Ranking.

In July 2015, he beat Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman in a 4-hole playoff to win the Open Championship for his 12th PGA Tour win and 2nd major

In July 2019, he fell off the Official World Golf Ranking’s top 100 players for the first time since April 2004. In August 2019, he failed to make the FedEx Cup Playoffs for the first time since the playoffs were introduced in 2007.

In July 2021, Johnson was forced to withdraw from the 2021 Open Championship after testing positive for COVID-19, ending his participation in 69 consecutive majors.

In August 2023, Johnson hit the headlines following an announcement that he would captain the U.S. Ryder Cup squad against Europe in Rome, Italy.

Also, Brooks Koepka and Justin Thomas have been named among United States Captain, Johnson’s six wildcard picks for the upcoming Ryder Cup.
