Lords of the Fallen is the latest entry into the Soulslike genre and many fans will be wondering if it will include any form of multiplayer. The genre was popularised by Dark Souls, which allowed players to summon their pals – or even total strangers – into the game to help with bosses.
Summoning in Souls games has been a prevalent feature since its inception, but not all games in this genre include the feature. The recently released Lies of P was completely single-player, whilst the original Lords of the Fallen was also purely a single-player game. The first Lords of the Fallen was a long time ago, though, and this new game is a reboot, so things may be different.
Let’s dive into whether or not Lords of the Fallen has multiplayer and co-op, or will the latest entry in the series be single-player like its predecessor?
Will Lords of the Fallen have multiplayer?

If you want to play through Lords of the Fallen with a buddy, you’re in luck, as the game will feature multiplayer at launch.
Not only will multiplayer be part of the game, but you can invite a friend to play through the whole game with you – not just summoning them in for the bosses.
As far as we know, there are no PvP features intended for the game, but there is always a chance it may come later down the line.
Will Lords of the Fallen have local co-op?

Lords of the Fallen will not feature any local co-op, so if you do need some help it’s going to have to be online.
It’s a shame you can’t play through the game rubbing shoulders with your mate and sharing in one another’s frustrations, but playing through the whole thing together online will still offer some great possibilities.
