With the Baldur’s Gate 3 PC release coming on August 3, and the PlayStation version releasing later on in September, people will be wondering if it will also be on Xbox at some point.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is one of the most highly anticipated role-playing games of the year, and after spending three years in early access, it’s shaping up to be one of the expansive CRPGs of all time.
Despite the fanfare and excitement for the title – and a new game from Larian Studios in general – the Xbox audience is left wondering if they’ll have to miss out on this one. So, check out if Baldur’s Gate 3 will be on Xbox.
Will Baldur’s Gate 3 be on Xbox?

Baldur’s Gate 3 will be releasing on the Xbox Series X|S at some point in the future, but we currently have no timeline on this, and thus no release date or release window to go off.
We know this version is still in development though, as back in February, a community manager for Larian posted to the game’s subreddit about the Xbox version.
A note on Baldur’s Gate 3 for Xboxby u/larian-molly in BaldursGate3
“Xbox players, we’ve seen your questions about if/when you can expect Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox” the post began. “We’ve had an Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 in the works for some time, but we have run into some technical issues – particularly with split-screen co-op.”
Ultimately, they confirmed it’s still being worked on, stating, “we are still working on an Xbox version of BG3, but we’re not yet confident enough to announce it.”

On the same day, Creative Director at Larian, Swen Vincke, took to Twitter to say “Relax. We still aren’t playing the exclusivity game.”
All of this points toward the still unannounced Xbox release coming down to technical issues that will take some time to work on, rather than PlayStation having a timed exclusivity deal.
Now you know that Baldur’s Gate 3 will release on the Xbox, and the reason for it still having no release date is down to technical issues.
