Schabusiness was sentenced to life in prison without parole on Tuesday, 26 September 2023 after being found guilty of mutilating her lover after his death.
She was handed a life sentence for the murder of Shad Thyrion, 24, whom she choked with a chain in February 2022 before beheading him and chopping up his body.
In February 2022, Thyrion’s decapitated head was found by his mother in a bucket in the basement of their family home in Green Bay.
Schabusiness was arrested on February 23, 2022, after Thyrion’s mother called the police to her house after she discovered her son’s head in a bucket.
Other dismembered body parts, including Thyrion’s bisected torso in a storage tote, were later discovered by the police.
Judge Thomas Walsh ruled that Schabusiness was a risk to the public, and was handed life without extended supervision for murder, plus an additional ten and a half years for mutilation of a corpse and sexual assault.
Schabusiness life sentence comes after a jury convicted her in July 2023 of first-degree intentional homicide, third-degree sexual assault, and mutilating a corpse.
Earlier Schabusiness had pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect, but the jury also found that she wasn’t mentally ill at the time she killed Shad Thyrion.
