Prithvi Pankaj Shaw born on 9 November 1999, is a former Indian international cricketer who played for the Indian cricket team in all formats and currently plays for Mumbai in domestic cricket and Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League.
Prithvi Shaw debuted at the age of 18 for India and holds the record for being the youngest debutant to score a test century. He was retained by Delhi Capitals ahead of the Tata Ipl Auction 2022. Under his captaincy, the Indian team won the 2018 Under-19 World Cup.
A right-handed opening hitter, Shaw made his international debut on 4 October 2018 and became the second youngest Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to make a Test Century and the youngest India to do so in its Test launch. Shaw made his first-place debut for Mumbai in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy semi-finals on 1 January 2017. He scored a record goal in the second set and was the man of the match.
Shaw won another award for scoring a century in his first Duleep Trophy match and equaling the record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who has scored a century each in the Ranji Trophy and His first Duleep Trophy for the first time. In December 2017, Shaw was appointed as the captain of the Indian team for the 2018 Under-19 World Cricket Championship. He led India to the final, where they beat Australia by eight goals to win their fourth World Under-19 Championship.

Prithvi Shaw was born in Thane, Maharashtra into a Bihari family. Shaw’s parents moved from Gaya, Bihar to Thane as a working migrant. Prithvi Shaw has played for the Middle Income Group (MIG) cricket club in Mumbai and was the captain of Rizvi Springfield High School and the Mumbai Under-16 team. In November 2013 he set the highest record for any pitcher in any form of organized cricket since 1901 when he hit 546 in a Harris Shield match Elite Division.
Prithvi Shaw led Rizvi Springfield’s side to two Harris Shield championships in 2012 and 2013, including a prestigious trophy in the Mumbai Youth cricket tournament. In 2012, he scored 155 in the semi-finals and 174 in the final. Shaw trains and plays for the Middle Income Cricket Club in Mumbai, where Sachin’s son Arjun Tendulkar is a teammate.

After scoring 73 points in a match against Cricket Academy team Julian Wood in England, academy founder Julian Wood suggested Shaw come to England in May 2013 and work at the academy. Shaw made his A-list debut for Mumbai in the 2016–17 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 25 February 2017. In November 2017, in the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy, he scored his second consecutive goal of the century and fourth in five first-place matches since his debut, batting for Mumbai. Shaw scored his first goal of the A-century against Leicestershire on 19 June 2018 and scored 132 points. In October 2018 he was named in the India A team for the 2018-2019 Deodhar Trophy.
In February 2021, Prithvi Shaw scored an unbeaten double of the century (227* of 152) against Pondicherry in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Shaw’s 227* is currently the highest individual score in tournament history. He scored 827 points in the same league, the most points in a season. On January 12, 2023, in Ranji Trophy, he scored 379 points in one leg against Assam, which is the second-highest score in first-class by an Indian player after BB Nimbalkar of the Maharashtra cricket team.
He captained Mumbai in the 2020-21 Vijay Hazare Trophy and the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy, each reaching the finals.
