Federico Delbonis is an Argentine former professional tennis player born on October 5, 1990 in Azul, Argentina. He is the first of three children birthed to Horacio Delbonis and Marta Aguirre. His siblings are Felicitas Delbonis and Alfredo Delbonis.
He began playing tennis at a young age, with his main opponents his siblings. Despite being famous, no information is available regarding his education, and junior tennis career. However, he did quite well on the junior stage.

Going into the game as underdog, Delbonis pulled a shocker, defeating Federer in two tiebreaker to book a place in the first ATP Tour final of his career. Unfortunately, he lost to Fabio Fognini in the final but entered the top 100 for the first time in his career.
A year later at the 2014 Brasil Open, Delbonis won his first ATP title, defeating Paolo Lorenzi in three sets. Lorenzi who had previously beaten him in three Challenger events, lost at the final, enabling him reach the ranking of No. 44.
Delbonis won several other ITF Futures and ATP Challenger Awards before retiring. His Grand Slam record seemed not so appealing as he failed countlessly to get through the fourth round, in singles and through the third round in doubles.
