Boyz ii Men is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based American vocal harmony group that is most recognized for its a cappella harmonies and dramatic songs.
They now consist of tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman, along with baritone Nathan Morris. Boyz II Men rose to stardom as a foursome on Motown Records in the 1990s, with bassist Michael McCary among them. McCary departed the group in 2003 owing to health problems, which led to a multiple sclerosis diagnosis later that year.
The trio released the top 5 singles “Motownphilly” and “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” in 1991, which were followed by the top-charting single “End of the Road” in 1992.
What happened to Boyz II Men?
With the resignation of bass singer Michael McCary in 2003, the Vocal group officially lost its fourth member, but has since carried on with its musical endeavors, releasing a total of seven albums over the course of the previous 16 years. McCary exited the music group after he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
Boyz II Men’s early success was tainted by tragedy when their road manager, Khalil Rountree, was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in 1992.

None of the original members of the Philadelphian R&B band have died yet. However, the most recent instance of a fatal incident is related to a doctor who was a competitor on America’s Got Talent and gained notoriety for singing a viral video’s 1-minute rendition of a Boys II Men song.
A fatal car accident claimed the life of Dr. Brandon Rogers in 2017 and he died at the age of 29 years.
