Pippa Wetzell is not the only child of her parents; Clem Wetzell (father) and Carol Wetzell (mother). She has a younger brother named; Yanni Wetzell.
Yanni was born on 8 July 1996. He’s a professional basketball player for Alba Berlin of the German Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) and the EuroLeague.
Yanni played college basketball for the St. Mary’s Rattlers, the Vanderbilt Commodores, and the San Diego State Aztecs.
After completing Takapuna Grammar School, Wetzell attended the Auckland University of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Communications degree.
Wetzell went on to have several roles at TV ONE’s breakfast television programme; “Breakfast”, starting as a junior meet-and-greet assistant before reporting news for the show.
From 2001, Wetzell worked as a reporter for ONE News, later returning to Breakfast as back-up host for Kay Gregory and also presented the consumer affairs show Fair Go.
Following Kay Gregory’s departure from Breakfast in 2007, Wetzell became co-host with Paul Henry. Wetzell left the show at the end of 2010.
As of this writing (Monday, 20 November 2023), she works with TVNZ 1, the first national television channel owned and operated by the state-owned broadcaster, Television New Zealand
