The Lies of P developer is actually a partnership between two South Korean studios: Round8 Studios and parent company, Neowiz Games, the latter of which is also the publisher. Additionally, as clarified by the game’s director in an interview with Prankster 101, the particular team at Round8 Studios which has worked on Lies of P is Team Nough – one of two teams at the developer which are on different projects.
Being in development for about three years, the Lies of P was originally announced in May 2021 before being slowly followed by more gameplay details at events like Gamescom 2022 and GDC 2023 – steadily building up to its release date of September 19, 2023.

As for leadership behind the game’s development, the Lies of P director is Choi Ji-Won.
Although his full-game debut, Choi Ji-Won has brought with him to Lies of Pi 15 years of experience in game development, most notably directing the combat system in MMORPG, Lost Ark – as also mentioned in the aforementioned interview with Prankster 101.

Whilst Lies of P is only the second game made by developer Round 8 Studios, the first being MMORPG Bless Unleashed in 2020, Neowiz Games has quite a few titles under its development and publishing history.
