Astegon is one of the most popular creatures among the Palworld community. Many players primarily use it to mine resources like stone, ore, and sulfur, as this pal boasts high-level mining skills.
However, being an Alpha Pal, Astegon can’t be found everywhere in the game. Instead, this Dark/Dragon-type Pal has a few very specific spawn locations, making it somewhat challenging to locate – but we’ve got you covered.
Where to find Astegon in Palworld
Astegon can be found in two different places: the Destroyed Mineshaft in the Volcanic region and the northeast island. The exact locations are marked in the image below for your convenience:

To access the first location, the Destroyed Mineshaft, you’ll need a Flying-type Pal like Jetragon to travel across the large mountains. The closest fast travel point to the dungeon’s entrance is the Eternal Pyre Tower.
However, if you haven’t unlocked this teleport point yet, we recommend visiting the second location: the northeast island.

Astegon usually roams around the lower part of this island, which is surrounded by giant walls. As soon as you visit this island, you’ll be warned by the “illegal activity underway” message. As a result, human enemies will try to assassinate you whenever they spot you.
How to catch Astegon in Palworld
Catching Astegon won’t be an easy task, but if you’re at a high enough level and you bring the right Pals and weapons in your inventory, you can definitely pull it off.
Being a Dark/Dragon-type creature means Astegon is weak against Ice-type and Dragon-type attacks, so make sure to form your party accordingly.

For instance, I brought a level 50 Jormunitide and a handgun to the boss fight. I also made sure that I had a bunch of Hyper Spheres in my inventory, as Astegon has a pretty low capture rate.
Terms and conditions apply
The boss shoots spirit flame balls that can cause significant damage if you don’t dodge them. When the boss’s health is less than 500 HP, you’ll need to throw Hyper Spheres one after another to successfully capture it.
