The Ghostrunner 2 Roguerunner.exe mode pops up after you’ve made a bit of progress in the main story, but what exactly is it? Ghostrunner 2 is a mostly linear experience, but this bonus game mode gives a bit of replayability and an extra challenge.
Roguerunner.exe is a great way to test your skills and earn rewards, while also testing out many of the game’s upgrades. Here is everything you need to know about Ghostrunner 2 Roguerunner.exe mode.
What is Roguerunner.exe in Ghostrunner 2?

Roguerunner.exe is a challenge mode in Ghostrunner 2 which becomes available a short way into the game. More than likely, you noticed it by the sudden appearance of a new option on the main menu when logging back into the game.
In the Roguerunner.exe menu, you will see four stages, and a button to start a New Simulation. At first, only the first stage is unlocked. To unlock the other three, you need to play through the main story. Hover over the stages to see which story missions you need to complete to unlock them.
Hitting the New Simulation button will bring up a screen of nodes with paths linking them, going left to right. Each node has a challenge, either a parkour challenge or a combat challenge. You choose one of the nodes on the left, complete it, and then move to the next node in the line.

The first few challenges are easier, with the difficulty ramping up about halfway through a stage. Each node grants rewards, either modifiers or extra lives. Modifiers improve your character and come in various rarities, denoting their power. Extra lives are crucial, as you have a limited pool of lives and once they are used up, your run is over.
If you can make it to the final node, you will have to clear a difficult challenge room to complete the stage. These rooms include both parkour and combat, having you traverse a large room with various platforms and clear them of enemies.
Beat the challenge, and you complete the stage. If you have unlocked further stages by progressing through the story, you can then move on to the next stage. You will need to unlock all four stages and complete them all in one go to get all of the rewards.

An extra challenge is all well and good, but we need some real incentives, which come in the form of cosmetic rewards. Each of the four stages has a unique cosmetic reward to unlock. Those rewards are:

The stages get more difficult as they go, and you have to beat all four stages in a row to get the sword skin, so consider that a badge of honour if you get it.
