Popular American actress, Amber Laura Heard was born on April 22nd 1986 in Austin, Texas in the United States of America. She was born to Patricia Paige, an internet researcher and David Clinton Heard who was also the owner of a construction company. Amber Heard shares the same parents with her sister, Whitney Heard.
Early Life and Early Roles as an actress
Heard’s family lived in Austin and she grew up riding horses, hunting and fishing with her father as he always trained horses in his free time. Although she has stated as an adult that she could no longer “accept the objectification,” she also competed in beauty pageants. Heard, who was raised Catholic, started identifying as an atheist when she was sixteen, following the death of her best friend in a car accident. The following year, Heard left her Catholic high school to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles because she was no longer at home in “conservative, God-fearing Texas.” She eventually completed a home study course and received a diploma.
Heard’s early acting credits include performances in two music videos, Kenny Chesney’s “There Goes My Life” and Eisley’s “I Wasn’t Prepared,” as well as minor supporting roles in the television shows Jack & Bobby (2004), The Mountain (2004), and The O.C. Career
Heard is an American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) advocate for women’s rights and a Human Rights Champion for the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights’ Stand Up for Human Rights campaign. In 2015, Heard married actor Johnny Depp. When Heard obtained a restraining order against Depp in May 2016, citing domestic violence, the divorce received enormous media attention. Depp would eventually sue British tabloid newspaper The Sun for defamation over their coverage of Heard’s domestic abuse charges, and Heard herself for an op-ed published in the Washington Post under her name. While Depp lost the first lawsuit, the second, which Heard filed a countersuit against, became the topic of a nationally publicized trial, which culminated with a jury finding both Heard and Depp liable for defamation and leaving Heard in debt to Depp for $8.35 million. Heard’s charges and following court battles drew substantial criticism, particularly on social media.
Amber Heard and L’Oreal Saga
Amber Heard’s contract with L’Oreal was revoked after she was sacked from her part in Aquaman 2. Despite the fact that the Johnny Depp defamation trial is still underway, a growing petition calling for Heard’s removal from her involvement in Aquaman 2 has nearly two million signatures.
