Guillén was born on September 30, 1999, in Houston, Texas in the United States of America to Mexican immigrant parents, Gloria Guillén and Rogelio Guillén.
Her mother, Gloria asserted in an interview that Vanessa originally thought about joining the military at the age of six in order to defend her city and nation.
