Wondering how long the new Valhalla DLC mode takes to beat? God of War: Ragnarok has added a new game mode for free, so many are naturally curious about how long it takes to complete it.

While Valhalla is a rogue-like and can be played indefinitely, the game mode does have its own story and therefore an ending of sorts. Here is how long it takes to reach the end of Valhalla in God of War: Ragnarok.

How long to beat Valhalla

To put a ballpark figure on it, it should take about 4 to 6 hours to reach the conclusion of the Valhalla mode. As a rogue-like mode, how long it takes to finish the story depends on how successful you are on your various runs through the game.

SPOILER WARNING:
There are some spoilers below regarding the story of Valhalla, read on with caution.

The final boss of Valhalla is Tyr, and you must defeat him several times to reach the end of Kratos’ story here. Each time you defeat him, Tyr changes up his weapons and tactics, meaning the fight gets harder each time you win.

Furthermore, the game isn’t necessarily over once you get this ending. You can continue to play and improve your stats, and there is even more to the story if you do so. There is, what many are dubbing the “secret ending”. Essentially there are more details unveiled as you continue to play, which culminates in a second conclusion.

This can take up to 10 hours in total to reach, so if you want to get the most out of Valhalla, be sure to continue playing even after it has seemingly ended.
