Bagent made his Shepherd Rams debut on September 1, 2018, against Notre Dame (OH), throwing for 518 yards on 36 completions and 54 attempts and three touchdowns in a 35-33 loss. In 2018, Bagent was named the starting quarterback for the Shepherd Rams.
His passing yards, attempts, and completions were all school records. Bagent won the MEC Offensive Player of the Week award the following week against Glenville State after completing 32 of his 41 passes for 378 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-24 victory.
