Tulip Victoria Khaury’s father, Tiny Tim, is best known for his cover hits of “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” and “Livin’ in the Sunlight, Lovin’ in the Moonlight,” sung in falsetto.
On November 30, 1996, he performed at a benefit gala hosted by the Minneapolis Women’s Club. While performing the final song of the night, he suffered another heart attack on stage midway through the performance of his hit “Tiptoe Through the Tulips.” He was helped back to the table, where he collapsed and never regained consciousness. Paramedics performed CPR at the scene and transported him to Hennepin County Medical Center. After repeated resuscitation attempts, he was pronounced dead.
