The love drama ’96 (2018), the political thriller Kodi (2016), the comedy-drama Abhiyum Naanum (2008), the romantic drama Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya (2010), and the historical dramas Ponniyin Selvan: I (2022) and Ponniyin Selvan: II (2023) received positive reviews for her performances.

She received the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Critics) – Tamil for the films Kodi and ’96, respectively.

Trisha is a passionate supporter of animals and has served as a PETA Goodwill Ambassador. In 2010, Trisha worked with PETA to make a public plea encouraging people to domesticate stray dogs rather than lust for pedigreed foreign breeds.

She also served as the Goodwill Ambassador for PETA’s 2010 “Angel for Animals” campaign, which urged people to adopt stray canines.
