The Chi Series is an American come-of-age drama about life in a neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. Lena Waithe creator of the movie got the inspiration to write the movie after watching another Chicago Gun Violence Report and her goal was “to show others that black people are humans “with Rick Famuyiwa as director. The movie was shown on January 7, 2018, subsequently having the other seasons premiered each year.
