Steven Crowder’s Career

Early in his career, Crowder posted satirical films on websites run by conservative media outlets while working for Fox News.

Later, he started Louder with Crowder, a political podcast and YouTube channel featuring commentary and humorous material.

It has a repeating section called “Change My Mind” when Crowder engages onlookers in conversation.

Crowder and supporters of Americans for Prosperity got into a fight in December 2012 while participating in a protest in Michigan over the state’s recently passed right-to-work law.

The first demonetization of Crowder’s YouTube channel occurred in 2019 as a result of his frequent usage of homophobic and racial epithets.

His channel was re-monetized after YouTube said Crowder addressed his behavior and material, then it was demonetized once more in March 2021 along with a week-long suspension of uploads after breaking YouTube’s guidelines on the accuracy of presidential election results.

In October 2022, YouTube again suspended the channel for two weeks for breaking its anti-harassment, anti-threats, and anti-cyberbullying rules.

As of January 2023, the channel had 5.94 million subscribers. Crowder revealed on Russell Brand’s program that he would be relocating his show to Rumble on March 3, 2023.

On Louder with Crowder in January 2023, Crowder disclosed that he had received a term sheet from an unknown conservative media outfit.

Crowder outlined the terms of the offer, including that his salary would be significantly reduced during that time if he were to be demonetized or removed off websites like YouTube, Facebook, or the iTunes Store.

He condemned this, saying that “Big Tech is in bed with Big Con” and that it was a sign that right-wing media was not opposing but rather tacitly supporting Big Tech censorship.

The identity of the unknown media organization, The Daily Wire, was later established. The Daily Wire’s CEO, Jeremy Boreing, asserted that Crowder had misrepresented the contract’s provisions and that it would have paid Crowder $50 million over four years.

Furthermore, Boreing asserted that the stipulation was necessary to ensure profitability.
