Sonic x Shadow Generations gameplay, trailers & all we know

Sonic x Shadow Generations has been officially announced, and it’s set to re-introduce a classic Sonic game to a modern audience with all-new content.

But there’s a twist – Shadow the Hedgehog is getting in on the fun and has his own set of levels this time around. Sonic and Shadow both get their own unique experience for us to enjoy.

Let’s take a look at when the game is expected to come out, as well as its platforms, gameplay details and more.

Do we know when Sonic x Shadow Generations will launch?

Sonic x Shadow Generations is set to launch at some point in Autumn 2024. We don’t have an exact date yet but you can expect it to launch during that season.

The new game will be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam and Epic. That’s a lot of platforms!

The first trailer for Sonic x Shadow Generations showed off what we can expect from this re-release of the beloved Sonic Generations game. The original game took loads of classic levels and re-imagined them, and now it seems like Shadow is getting some love this time around.

Sonic x Shadow Generations has two unique experiences included in one package.

Shadow the Hedgehog is returning in Sonic x Shadow Generations, and he has his own story campaign featuring “never-before-seen powers and abilities”. We can see him running around a city in the trailer and fighting the Biolizard from Sonic Adventure 2.

The game also includes a complete remaster of the original Sonic Generations game, including the 2D and 3D stages as well as “new bonus content”. The remaster will have upgraded visuals too.
