Sinclair Armstrong career
Armstrong began his professional career with Cherry Orchard before joining Shamrock Rovers. He played for their youth teams until making his senior debut at the age of 15 in August 2018 in a 1-0 loss to Drogheda United in the FAI Cup.
For the club’s reserve team Shamrock Rovers II in the League of Ireland First Division in 2020, he made 6 appearances. He joined Queens Park Rangers in the Championship in late 2020 after a productive trial stint with the team.
He received his first loan on October 18, 2021, when he joined Torquay United of the National League for the remainder of the year.
Only five days later, he made his debut and scored the team’s opening goal in a 2-0 home victory over King’s Lynn Town.
Armstrong went on to appear in eight more games for The Gulls, and before leaving for West London in December, he added another goal to his total against Weymouth.
He made a comeback to the National League in April 2022, this time signing a loan deal to play the rest of the season with Aldershot Town.
Armstrong made his club debut on April 26, 2022, against Bromley, and a few days later, in a 3-1 victory over Notts County at home, he scored his first goal for the team.
Armstrong was included in Queens Park Rangers’ matchday squad for their opening game of the 2022–23 season against Blackburn Rovers after an influential preseason. He made his memorable debut there, playing for the final 13 minutes of the team’s 1-0 loss.
