The early hours of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth are crucial to understanding Sephiroth’s motivations throughout the overarching story of the game, so you may be wondering whether or not you should complete certain aspects of it, like whether you should go into Tifa’s house.
There are a number of options you’ll get by following the prompts that pop up. As you complete these small quests in the first part of the opening chapter, you’ll be one step closer to finding out what happened in Nibelheim.
Should you go into Tifa’s house in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
The short answer is, yes, you should go into Tifa’s house during the first part of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. As a flashback to Cloud and Sephiroth’s time in Nibelheim, visiting various locations, including Cloud’s Mom’s house and the water tower is essential for gleaning more of the story.
However, it isn’t just for story reasons that you should visit Tifa’s house. As you explore, you’ll be able to find a Bottle of Ether, a useful consumable item that restores MP during a battle.

Additionally, you’ll get your first opportunity to try out the Piano minigame, as shown above. This will come in handy later as you attempt to find all of the sheet music in FF7 Rebirth, but for now, you can just tickle the ivories and experiment.
No matter how well you play (or poorly, in my case), the team will be happy with your performance and want you to play for them sometime.
Should you go through Tifa’s stuff in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
When you make it to Tifa’s room, you’ll be given the prompt to go through her stuff, and you’ll get different reactions from Aerith, Tifa, Barret and Red XIII in the present depending on your answer.
If you go through her stuff, Tifa and Aerith will be annoyed, even calling you an “a**h*le” to get the point across.

If you decide not to go through Tifa’s belongings and tell her it was just a joke, Tifa, Aerith and Barret will simply tell you it wasn’t a very funny one.

While these won’t affect relationships with the group this time, these types of prompts are worth bearing in mind for the future, as they’ll come into play later and you’ll need to consider the dynamic you have with your party.
