Should you give Credits to the gambler in Star Wars Outlaws?

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • You can choose to give a gambler some money in Mirogana to continue his gambling activities
  • If you give him some money, he’ll return later to give you a 50% profit on your investment
  • I recommend giving him the full 500 Credits if you can afford it early on

Gambling is a key theme in the seedy underbelly of Star Wars Outlaws, and Kay can get involved herself thanks to a few NPCs she meets along the way.

When exploring Mirogana on the moon of Toshara, you’ll quickly come across a gambler who’s down on his luck. He’ll ask Kay for some Credits to continue his escapade of luck, but the question is: should you?

What happens when you give the gambler Credits?

There are three options you can select when speaking with the gambler at Mirogana:

  • Give 100 Credits
  • Give 500 Credits
  • Leave

As such, you can either choose to invest a small amount, a large amount, or walk away altogether. Given you meet this gambler early on in the game, it’s understandable to be wary – I didn’t even have 500 Credits in total when I first came across the fella.

However, if you do have the cash to spare, it’s definitely worth giving the gambler 500 Credits. He’ll disappear for a while, but will later appear with a 50% return on your original investment.

If you give the gambler 100 Credits, he’ll give you 150 Credits back. Give him 500 Credits, and he’ll reward you with 750 Credits.

That said, you’ll need to wait a fair while before the character returns to his original spot. I completed roughly three to four missions before I came across the gambler again, so you’re investing a lot of your money in the short term for a big payout in the long term.

Where to find the Gambler

If you’ve not yet come across the gambler, or are looking to find him again, head to this spot on the map:

He’s located in Mirogana, just slightly northwest of the Fathier betting station. He was standing looking sorry for himself when I first came across him. After supplying him with some Credits, I later found him sitting on a chair with his hands behind his head looking very pleased with himself.

If you’re struggling to come across the gambler again, don’t panic – he’s not run off with your money and burned it all. You’ll just need to go away and complete a few missions before coming back to check on his location. There are plenty of Syndicate and side quests to be getting on with in Mirogana alone – just keep an ear out for leads.
