The Emmy-nominated costume designer who worked on the Star Wars series The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka died on Wednesday, 4 October 2023.

According to several online reports, the three-time Emmy nominee, Shawna Trpcic died suddenly of an unknown cause in Palm Desert in the morning of Wednesday 4 October 2023. She was 56.
Growing up, Trpcic wanted to be a truck driver but she had a teacher who inspired and motivated her to pursue being an artist.
She then attended Otis College of Art and Design for fashion. Trpcic eventually received her first costume designer credit in 1990.
Trpcic was consistent throughout her career and became one of the most sought-after American costume designers
She started regular work on Lucasfilm productions in 2019, beginning with season two of The Mandalorian. She also worked on The Book of Boba Fett and most recently, Ahsoka.
Her other credits included The Ballad of John St. George, Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein, Carry Tiger To Mountain, Revival, Witches of East End, The Cabin in the Woods, This Is the End, Firefly, Angel, K-Ville, Torchwood, Husbands, Lust for Love and Dollhouse.
Trpcic earned Emmy nominations for her efforts on The Mandalorian, Boba Fett, and most recently, season three of The Mandalorian. She also won a Costume Designers Guild Award for her design work on Boba Fett.
