Theme

The Sarabhais, an upper-class Gujarati family who reside in a luxury apartment block and later in penthouses in South Mumbai’s affluent Cuffe Parade region, are the focus of the show. Maya and Indravadhan Sarabhai are the parents of the three kids in the household. The eldest, Sahil, and his middle-class wife Monisha reside in the flat just across from them. Cosmetologist Sahil is much more composed than the other characters. Maya is a haughty socialite who finds Monisha’s middle-class mannerisms irritating. She regularly makes fun of her with “light-hearted jokes” and makes useless attempts to change her ways.

The second child of Maya and Indravadhan, Sonya, is a psychic who is wed to Dushyant, a technician who annoys the family by explaining everything about machinery. “I’ll explain” is his go-to phrase. The sitcom frequently laughs at the youngest child, Rosesh, who is also a poet and actress. Indravadan enjoys torturing Rosesh and mocking him for being his mother’s puppet in his poetry. He resides with his parents and is not married.
