Ronaldo Valdez is survived by his two children, a daughter called Melissa Gibbs, and a son named Janno Gibbs, who announced the death of his father in a social media post.
Janno was born on September 16, 1969. He’s a singer, songwriter, actor, and comedian. He has been married to Bing Loyzaga since 1990 and has been blessed with two children Gabby Gibbs, and Alyssa Gibbs.
Ronaldo Valdez’s son, Janno Gibbs spoke on behalf of the family to confirm the passing of his father. He shared the statement on his Instagram account a few hours after the Quezon City Police District confirmed the actor’s death.
“It is with great sorrow that I confirm my father’s passing,” Janno wrote. However, he didn’t disclose or confirm the cause of the late actor’s death. He likewise asked the public to respect their privacy.
“The family would like to request that you respect our privacy in our grieving moment. Your prayers and condolences are much appreciated,” Janno added
Ronaldo rose to fame after being discovered by celebrated Filipino comedian and actor Dolphy in the late 70’s.
Since then, Ronaldo has acted in several movies and television series and has become an iconic figure in the Philippine entertainment industry.
His TV and film credit includes; Mula sa Puso, Ang Munting Paraiso, Sa Dulo ng Walang Hanggan, Labs Kita… Okey Ka Lang, Los Bastardos, The Mistress, All You Need is Pag-ibig, and Seven Sundays.
Ronaldo’s last work on TV was the hit series; KathNiel-starrer 2 Good 2 Be True, wherein he played the role of Lolo Sir. During his birthday in November, his son Janno revealed that they will be releasing a movie together in January 2024.
