Release date, returning Pokemon & trailers

Since being revealed back in February 2023 during Pokemon Day, all manner of players have been curious as to when the Scarlet & Violet DLC will launch – and now, we’ve finally got an answer for the release wave. 

So, along with the trailers and returning Pokemon coming to the game, let’s get into the launch details for the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC, including release windows and the ‘mon that are set to return. 

Is there a Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC release date?

The first Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC release date is Wednesday, September 13, 2023 – starting with The Teal Mask, the first of the two Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC expansions.

The Teal Mask will see you meeting new people and Pokemon in the land of Kitakami on a school trip. Whilst there, it will be up to you to unravel the mysterious folk tales around Kitakami’s legendary Pokemon: Okidogi, Munidori, and Fezandpiti. 

Meanwhile, Part 2, The Indigo Disk, is slated for a winter 2023 launch – its premise takes you under the ocean to visit Blueberry Academy as a transfer student, learning about its focused curriculum on Pokemon battling. Through currently unknown means, you encounter the newly debuting legendary Pokemon, Terapagos.

What are the returning Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet DLC?

As showcased in the below recent trailer, we’ve gotten a better look at some of the Pokemon from older games returning as new entries in Scarlet and Violet’s Pokedex for you to find and catch during The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk DLC.

Are there any Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC trailers?

After the February 2023 Pokemon Day announcement trailer, we hadn’t really seen any new details about the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero. However, the recent Scarlet and Violet DLC trailers from the June 2023 Nintendo Direct, and the above trailer from the August Pokemon Presents have finally given us a proper look at both The Teal Mask and the Indigo Disk. 

Along with some story details, the latest trailer also gives us a nice insight into the locales, characters and some of the returning Pokemon from older games in both expansions – along with the aforementioned new legendary Pokemon as well.
