The next season of Pokemon GO has been revealed! It’s called World of Wonders and it seems to have a focus on the powerful Ultra Beasts and several Kanto-region creatures.
Now that Pokemon GO Tour: Sinnoh has wrapped up and the season of Timeless Travels is nearly over, it’s time to look ahead to what’s coming next. Before we get a full season reveal blog post, Niantic has revealed some key details about the new World of Wonders season.
When does the World of Wonders season start?
The World of Wonders season will begin on March 1, 2024, and run until June 1, 2024.
This is the same three-month schedule that previous Pokemon GO seasons have used, so expect monthly updates and plenty of wonder-themed events in that timespan!
Pokemon GO teases new Ultra Beasts
The teaser video for the World of Wonders season features an Ultra Wormhole, which fans will know is an indication that Ultra Beasts are about to emerge into the game!
It seems unlikely that Niantic would use an Ultra Wormhole to tease a brand new season if it was just going to feature the return of existing Ultra Beasts. This leads me to believe we’ll finally see the remaining four Ultra Beasts make their debut in the game. These are Poipole, Naganadel, Stakataka, and Blacephalon.
Elsewhere in the teaser, we can spot Nidoran, Pidgeotto, Pidgeot, Butterfree, and Dragonite. The fact that this video only features Kanto-region Pokemon suggests they’ll play a big part in this season – or perhaps Niantic is just playing on nostalgia to get people playing the game.
One Pokemon that does get a lot of screen time in the short clip is Nidoran. This has already sparked speculation that we’ll be getting a Nidoran Community Day in the new season. I’m surprised there hasn’t been one already (I had to double-check) – but I would definitely appreciate the chance to get a Shiny Nidoking!
