PKL Season 9, the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League 2022 is set to return later this year; learn about the auction start date, players, teams, salary purse, retention rules, payroll, and much more, as well as the Pro Kabaddi Season 9 retained players list.

Kabaddi fans can finally relax because Season 9 of Pro Kabaddi will return later this year. In PKL season 8, Dabang Delhi defeated three-time champion Patna Pirates to win their first championship.

PKL 9 Auction Date 2022: 

VIVO PKL Player Auction will be broadcast LIVE on 5th August 2022, 6:30 PM onwards on the Star Sports Network and Disney+ Hotstar. 

The VIVO Pro Kabaddi Player Auction, which will take place on the 5th and 6th of August 2022, will feature players such as Pawan Sehrawat and Pardeep Narwal. Before the PKL 9 auction, VIVO Pro Kabaddi announces the ‘Elite Retained Players,’ ‘Retained Young Players,’ and ‘New Young Players’ for Season 9.

As teams begin to assemble their squads for Season 9 later this year, 111 players were retained across all three categories, with 19 from the Elite Retained Players (ERP) category, 13 from the Retained Young Players (RYP) category, and 38 from the New Young Players (NYP) category. This year, 41 Franchisees have been nominated as New Young Players. The non-retained players will be auctioned off at the PKL 9 auctions in Mumbai on August 5th and 6th, 2022.

Anupam Goswami, CEO of Disney Star India’s Sports League and League Commissioner of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League said “Some of the top VIVO Pro Kabaddi players have a large fan base across the country, and we anticipate some interesting bidding wars at this auction.” This will result in the formation of new team squads and an increased level of competition in Season 9.”

The salary wallet for each franchise in the PKL season 9 auction:

This time, each franchise’s total wage exchange for its teams will be Rs 4.4 crores. The auctions will include national, international, and new emerging players in four categories.Categories A, B, C and D will be ranked based on the roles they play on the team, such as Raider, Defenders and All Rounders.Let us know what basic prices are established for each category of players.

  • Category A – Rs 30 Lakhs
  • Category B – Rs 20 Lakhs
  • Category C – Rs 10 Lakhs
  • Category D – Rs 6 Lakhs

Retention Rules for PKL 9:

Teams are permitted to keep their players from the previous year’s event in accordance with the League’s rules and policies. The Franchisee is permitted to retain up to six Elite Retained Players as well as up to four young players. The player who is not retained will be added to the 500-player pool for the auction.
