Peter Kay wife-British comedy writer, stand-up comedian and actor, Peter John Kay was born on July 2nd, 1973 in Farnworth in the United Kingdom.
Kay was born to Michael John Kay and Margaret Dierdre O’Neil. It is unclear if he had a brother but a man believed to be conman was jailed 24 months in prison for posing as the supposed brother of Peter Kay in order to raise funds for a child with cancer.
Kay stands at a height of 1.73m tall and weighed 121kg before his weight loss. He was up in Bolton, Lancashire’s Farnworth neighborhood, where he attended Mount Saint Joseph School and graduated with a GCSE in painting.
Kay’s father, Michael John Kay was an engineer but he passed away before Kay’s career as an entertainer took off before he was shot to prominence. His mother, Margaret was also an Irish Catholic originally from Coalisland, County Tyrone and Kay w as brought in his mother’s faith.
Before he was shot to fame, Kay took up a number of part-time jobs, including some that subsequently served as the basis for episodes of That Peter Kay Thing, including those at a toilet paper factory, a Netto supermarket, Manchester Arena, a cash and carry, a movie theater, a gas station, and a bingo hall.
At the University of Liverpool, he started a degree program in drama, theatre studies, and English literature. He dropped out of the program after having trouble with it and switched to the University of Salford’s Adelphi Campus School of Media, Music, and Performance’s Higher National Diploma (HND) in media performance, including stand-up.
On July 19, 2016, at Salford’s Lowry Theatre, Kay received an honorary Doctor of Arts degree from Salford University in honor of his contributions to the entertainment business.
In the North West Comedian of the Year competition, which was held in Manchester and hosted by Dave Spikey later the co-star and co-writer of Phoenix Nights he had his first success in stand-up comedy. Kay defeated Johnny Vegas in the competition despite being last on the schedule.

His first semi-professional stand-up performances, which earned him a prestigious Perrier Award nomination, occurred at the 1998 Edinburgh Fringe Festival after he entered and won Channel 4’s So You Think You’re Funny? competition in 1997.
After a seven-year hiatus, Kay announced in November 2009 that he would be making a comeback to stand-up comedy in April of the following year with a performance titled The Tour That Doesn’t Tour Tour…Now On Tour.
He quickly announced that the show would go on tour due to the high demand for tickets. With 1.2 million spectators in attendance, the tour was officially recognized as the greatest stand-up comedy tour of all time in the Guinness Book of World Records in January 2012.
While his disabled followers were faced with expenses of up to £39 on premium phone lines when ordering tour tickets, Kay’s tour garnered some mild press criticism.
Kay made plans to do stand-up comedy again in November 2017 by announcing his first tour in eight years. 2018 saw plans for the start of the Peter Kay Live: Have Gags, Will Travel tour, which was to kick off in April at the Genting Arena before moving on to locations such the SSE Hydro, Manchester Arena, The O2, First Direct Arena, SSE Arena Belfast, Sheffield Arena, and Echo Arena Liverpool.
Kay made the decision to halt all upcoming professional endeavors, including the Peter Kay Live: Have Gags Will Travel tour, on December 13, 2017, citing personal obligations to his family. He had requested that the media respect the privacy of him and his family.
In 2016, Kay received the National Television Award for Best Comedy for “Car Share,” the BAFTA TV Award for Best Scripted Comedy, and the BAFTA TV Award for Best Male Comedy Performance. A honorary doctorate was also awarded to him by the University of Salford.

Peter Kay’s wife is comedian Susan Gargan. Her life outside of the spotlight is largely unknown because the family prefers to maintain their privacy.
In 1998, she first met Peter in a club in Bolton. Kay was employed by the neighborhood movie theater at the time, while Susan was employed at the neighborhood Boots.
