In January 2017, a judge denied Paula Patton’s request to limit Thicke’s custody after she accused him of child abuse. Later that month, she was granted sole custody and a restraining order that included their son Julian and her mother Joyce Patton against Thicke after she accused him of domestic violence, infidelity, and drug and alcohol addiction. Patton and Thicke reached a custody agreement in August 2017.

Her father Charles Patton became a public defender because he believed so many accused black men did not get a fair trial or good representation. To change this, he took it upon himself to become a Lawyer in other to defend these innocent people and later opened his own private practice.

Paula Patton revealed her father Charles Putton died on 5th May 2020 in the United States of America but did not give exactly what happened to her father that lead to his death.
