Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster

Fans of the second Paper Mario game are in for a treat, as a Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster is officially heading to Nintendo Switch. This new version of the game features enhanced graphics with the classic gameplay fans know and love.

This came as a surprise in an already very Mario-filled Nintendo Direct on September 14th, 2023. Without further ado, here’s everything we know about the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster so far.

We didn’t get an exact release date for the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster, but we did get a release window. You can expect this remaster to be released at some point in 2024.

Unfortunately, we don’t know any more than that currently, so we’ll have to wait for more information from Nintendo. There’s a good chance it will be released after the new Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Princess Peach: Showtime games, but that’s just speculation on our part.

Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door remaster: Trailers

A trailer for the Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remaster was shown off at the Nintendo Direct on September 14th, 2023. It features a pretty varied look at the game, showing off the new enhanced graphics.

It also confirms that the gameplay will remain the same, with no new content shown off as far as we can tell. It appears to be a faithful remaster of the original game which was released back on the Nintendo Gamecube in 2004.

This remaster follows the Metroid Prime and Pikmin franchise re-releases on Switch this year. Gamecube fans have been eating very well recently!
