Bobb was a youth player for Lyn. After doing well at a young competition in the Algarve in 2013, he started to be associated with the Portuguese club Porto.

In an effort to persuade the young footballer to sign with them, Porto contacted Bobb’s mother, Turid Gunnes, and even paid for the two of them to travel to the club in Porto.

Gunnes made her own independent relocation to Portugal in October 2015, and in November of the same year, she signed the necessary paperwork for Bobb to register with the Portuguese Football Federation.

Bobb and his mother remained in Porto despite FIFA rejecting the paperwork in January 2016, and in January 2017 he tried to sign with Escola de Futebol Hernâni Gonçalves.

FIFA, however, did not believe that Escola de Futebol Hernâni Gonçalves was separate from Porto or that Bobb’s mother had moved to Portugal voluntarily to pursue a career in acting, and thus denied Bobb an international transfer certificate.

Bobb was instructed to return to Norway after the dispute went to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which ruled with FIFA. Later, he would sign with Vlerenga, another club in Oslo.

In July 2019, Bobb signed with Manchester City of the Premier League. He was awarded the top young talent at Manchester City for his age group by the English newspaper The Guardian in October of that same year.

Bobb secured his spot in Manchester City’s under-23 team after a relatively slow start compared to other young players signed at the same time, recording several assists in his first full season.

Bobb was named to the Manchester City bench for the first time in an FA Cup third-round match against Swindon Town on January 7, 2022, as compensation for his excellent play for the reserve team, though he did not play.

On September 2, 2023, Bobb made his Premier League debut against Fulham by replacing Phil Foden in the 88th minute.

He had a part in the progression that led to fellow Norwegian Erling Haaland scoring the game’s fifth goal. He played Red Star Belgrade on September 19 and won 3-1. This was his Champions League debut.
