The TikTok star was arrested after he was caught with 2.9kg of cocaine that was intended to be shipped from Peru to London.
Authorities found the drugs sealed into the back of his suitcase during a search. The street value of the drugs was estimated to be around £300,000.
Footage of the moment Adams’s luggage was searched was released by police and shows an officer cutting into the false back of the bag.
In an update of the events, the TikTok star has been jailed. Modou was sentenced after pleading to the drug trafficking charge and was fined about £1,500.
The 25-year-old was sentenced to six years and eight months in a Peruvian prison. According to a court statement, the drugs (cocaine) were destined for the UK.
The last photos posted on Adams’ social media accounts show him visiting Machu Picchu, a popular tourist destination in Peru on the Inca Trail, just four days before his arrest.
