Sanders gained 79 yards and a score on 20 carries while also catching five passes for 77 yards in Week 16’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Along with 50 receptions for 509 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns, he finished his first season with 818 rushing yards and three rushing scores.

Sanders’ hamstring injury prevented him from playing in the opening game of the 2020 regular season. He came back in Week 2 and played against the Los Angeles Rams for the first time this year. Sanders accumulated 131 scrimmage yards and a rushing touchdown in the 37-19 defeat.

In Week 5’s 38-29 defeat to his hometown Pittsburgh Steelers, Sanders rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns, including one of 74 yards. He carried the ball nine times for 118 yards in Week 6’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.

He recorded fourteen carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns in Week 14’s 24-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints, including a career-long 82-yard score.

Sanders initially served as the team’s starting running back, but as the offense started to prioritize passing the ball more, Sanders started to spend more time on the sidelines. Sanders had a combined total of 57 carries for 270 yards and 0 touchdowns over the first 6 games.

Sanders strained his ankle in the team’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders in week seven. Sanders was sidelined for three weeks due to this injury. In time for the team’s Week 11 matchup against the New Orleans Saints, he made his return.

In the week 13 game against the New York Jets, Sanders resumed a significant role, carrying the ball a season-high 24 times for 120 yards.

Sanders ran for a season-high 131 yards on 18 attempts in week 15’s game against the Washington Football Team. After breaking a bone in his hand during the Eagles’ week 16 game against the New York Giants, Sanders’ winning run came to a stop and he was forced to miss the remaining two regular-season games.

After everything was said and done, Sanders finished 2021 with 137 carries for 754 yards and 0 touchdowns. In 12 games, he also added 26 receptions for 158 yards.

In a 29-21 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on October 2, 2022, Sanders ran for 134 yards and two scores, assisting the Eagles in improving to 4-0 on the year.

On November 27, Sanders carried for a then-season-high 143 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries in a 40-34 victory against the Green Bay Packers. Two weeks later, in a 48-22 victory over the New York Giants, Sanders broke that mark with 144 yards and two scores on only 17 carries.

The 2022 season saw Sanders finish among the top 10 in the league in terms of carries, rushing yards, and rushing touchdowns; his 1,269 yards were the 5th-most in the league, while his 259 carries and 11 touchdowns both rated 8th.

In the divisional round victory over the New York Giants by the Eagles, 38-7, Sanders carried the ball 17 times for 90 yards. Sanders raced for two touchdowns in the 31-7 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, earning him the title of NVP (Nickelodeon Valuable Player).
