Xi Jinping is the third child of Xi Zhongxun a Chinese communist revolutionary and a subsequent political official in the People’s Republic of China and his second wife Qi Xin a Chinese author and member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), who wrote various articles on her husband.

Xi Jinping is a Chinese politician who served as general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and has been the supreme leader of China, since 2012.

Xi Jinping has also been President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) since 2013 and belongs to the fifth generation of Chinese leaders. The son of veteran Chinese communist Xi Zhongxun, Xi Jinping was exiled to rural Yanchuan county as a teenager after his father’s purge during the Cultural Revolution. He lived in a Yaodong in Liangjiahe village, Shaanxi province, where he joined the CCP after many failures and served as secretary of the local party committee.

After studying chemical engineering at Tsinghua University as an industrial-agricultural-military student, Xi Jinping rose through the political ranks in China’s coastal provinces. He served as Governor of Fujian Province from 1999 to 2002, before serving as Governor and Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee from 2002 to 2007. After Shanghai Party Secretary Tran Liangyu was fired, Xi Jinping was briefly appointed to replace him in 2007.

He then joined the Standing Committee of the Politburo (PSC) of the CPC the same year and served as First Secretary of the Central Secretariat in October 2007. In 2008, he was named the successor to the CPC Central Committee and is the supreme leader of Hu Jintao; To achieve this goal, Xi Jinping was appointed vice president of the PRC and vice chairman of the CMC. He officially received the title of core leader of the CCP in 2016.
