Meet Ivanna Sakhno’s Parents

Ivanna Anatoliyivna Sakhno was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, on November 14, 1997. According to her family background, she comes from a line of local filmmakers and loves to act.

Ivanna Sakhno’s first television appearance was in the 2005 series Lesya + Roma (Ukrainian adaptation of the hit Canadian sitcom Un gars, une fille) and her first film role was “Milka” ” in the 2013 biopic, Ivan the Mighty. Her first major Hollywood role was in Thomas Dunn’s 2016 horror film The Body Tree. She followed that up with roles in two big-budget films released in 2018, Pacific Rim Ustanding and The Spy Who Dumped Me.

In 2019, Ivanna Sakhno was a member of the jury of the international competition program of the 10th Odessa International Film Festival. In 2020, the largest American distributor Lionsgate acquired to distribute films by the Ukrainian director (thriller “Let it Snow”, directed by Stas Kapralov) in which Ivanna Sakhno played the main role. In November 2021, she joined the Disney+ series Ahsoka, part of the Star Wars franchise.

During the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, Ivanna Sakhno expressed support for Ukrainian political prisoners held by Russian authorities. In April 2023, Ivanna Sakhno discussed the war in Ukraine on Morning Joe and how Americans can help Ukrainians affected by the war. She also participated in the Artists for Ukraine fundraising event, showcasing Ukrainian art to benefit Ukrainian children displaced by the war.
