Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Matt Riddle is an American professional wrestler and former mixed martial artist who’s best known for his time in the UFC and WWE.

From 2008 to 2014, Riddle appeared on SpikeTV’s The Ultimate Fighter 7 and went on to hold a four-fight winning streak in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)

In February 2013, he was fired upon testing positive for smoking marijuana in February 2013. Riddle also fought for Titan FC and compiled a career record of 8–3 (2).

In 2014, he began training for a career in professional wrestling, making his debut in February 2015. He was recognized as the Rookie of the Year and the Most Improved Wrestler of the Year 2016.

Between 2015 and 2018, Riddle worked on the independent circuit, wrestling for promotions such as Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, World Wrestling Network/Evolve, and others.

He’s a former Evolve Champion, WWN Champion, PWG World Tag Team Champion (with Jeff Cobb), and two-time Progress Atlas Champion, to mention a few.

Riddle signed with WWE in 2018 and was originally assigned to the NXT brand, where he was a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Pete Dunne.

He was later promoted to the main roster, where he won the United States Championship in February 2021.

In April, he began teaming with Randy Orton, winning the Raw Tag Team Championship in August 2021 and March 2022.

In September 2023, Riddle hit major headlines after he confirmed that he had parted ways with WWE. His exit comes after a host of WWE superstars were released Thursday, September 21 amid the promotion’s merger with UFC into TKO Group Holdings.

In a post via Instagram, he wrote; “Just wanted to inform everyone that I’m no longer with WWE. Thank you for the memories and opportunities also thank you to all the fans for the support and love you give me every time I go out to the ring. See you all soon”
