Who Are Alexis Bledel Parents – American model cum actress, Alexis Kimberley Bledel was born on September 16th, 1981 in Houston, Texas in the United States of America. She was born to an Argentinian father, Martin Bledel and Nanette Bledel. Alexis shares the same parents as her brother, Eric David Bledel who also happens to be an actor.

Early Life & Career

Alexis was raised in a Spanish-speaking household and did not begin learning English until she started school; she identifies as Latina. She attended Baptist and Lutheran schools before graduating from Houston’s Catholic St. Agnes Academy in 1999. Her mother encouraged her to participate in community theater in order to overcome her shyness. She appeared in local productions of Our Town and The Wizard of Oz as a child. She was discovered at a nearby shopping mall and hired as a fashion model. She made her television debut in 2000, opposite Lauren Graham in The WB comedy-drama Gilmore Girls, which aired for seven seasons between October 5, 2000, and May 15, 2007. She portrayed Rory Gilmore, the single mother Lorelai Gilmore (Graham). Rory began as a high school student at an exclusive private academy, living with her mother in a small town in Connecticut, but later transferred to Yale University, where she worked as the editor of the Yale Daily News, among other things. Alexis made her feature film debut opposite Jonathan Jackson in Tuck Everlasting (2002), a fantasy romantic drama based on Natalie Babbitt’s novel of the same name (1975).

Alexis had previously worked as an uncredited extra in the 1998 comedy-drama Rushmore. She co-starred in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, a 2005 drama based on Ann Brashares’ novel of the same name, alongside Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera, and Blake Lively. She portrayed Lena Kaligaris, an aspiring artist who embarked on a journey with her three best friends over the summer thanks to a pair of “magical” jeans. Alexis co-starred as Becky, a prostitute, in the anthology neo-noir crime thriller Sin City in 2005. Alexis appeared as the fiancée of Jay Baruchel’s title character in the romantic comedy I’m Reed Fish in 2006. Following the conclusion of Gilmore Girls, she played Lena Kaligaris again in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which was released in August 2008. Alexis appeared in the comedy Post Grad, which was released on August 21, 2009.

Personal Life

From December 2002 to June 2006, Alexis was in a relationship with former Gilmore Girls co-star Milo Ventimiglia. During her Mad Men guest-starring run, Alexis began dating Vincent Kartheiser, whose character, Pete Campbell, shared scenes with her character, Beth Dawes. The couple announced their engagement in March 2013 and married in June 2014 in California. It was revealed in May 2016 that Alexis had given birth to their first child, a son, in the fall of 2015. Kartheiser filed for divorce from Alexis on August 10, 2022, and the divorce was finalized on August 26.
