Locations & how to defeat

Terrormorphs are some of the most powerful enemies in Starfield, and they also happen to drop some great loot – so here’s all you need to know about their locations and how to defeat them.

In Starfield, Terrormorphs are one of the more challenging enemies in the game, and can be recognised easily by their arachnid-like legs, large frame, and neck-breaking speed. Early on, these enemies are a pain.

Before taking on your first Terrormorph in Starfield, it might be worth popping in to see Mum and Dad if you have the Kid Stuff trait, and if you need to remove a bounty before you start, we have outlined it here as well. So, here is all you need to know about Terrormorph locations in Starfield and how to defeat them.

You will first come across a Terrormorph in Starfield during the Vanguard quest Grunt Work, which requires you to kill one of them on the planet Tau Ceti II. Luckily, there are plenty of Terrormorphs here – but only one kind.

In Starfield, there are two different types of Terrormorphs: standard Terrormorph and albino. The albino ones are only found on the planet Kreet, and they’re a lot more difficult than the standard ones so be careful when hunting them down. Mars also has a singular Terrormorph, but it is level 44, so proceed at your own risk.

Terrormorphs can provide a unique challenge in Starfield, but after you have faced them a couple of times it will become clear they have a pretty uniform attack pattern. However, that doesn’t mean they won’t pack a punch. Here’s a rundown of their different attacks:

  • If you are long-range, Terrormorphs will shoot acid, so close the distance
  • They can burrow underground or reach high-up structures
  • When you are close, they will melee attack

The key to defeating Terrormorphs is to constantly keep moving, and the jetpack will do a lot of the heavy lifting here. As far as any enemies go, Terrormorphs can also soak up damage, so high-damage weapons like explosives will also be a big help here.

If you have a companion, they will also act as a distraction, allowing you to gain some breathing space if the fight gets too much.

Now you should be fully prepared to take on Terrormorphs in Starfield. Be sure to check out our Starfield homepage for the latest guides, or take a look at list of best ships you can earn in the game.
