Kevin Fulbright Warren is an American lawyer and sports executive who was born on November 17th, 1963 in Phoenix in the United States of America.
He was born to Dr. Morrison Warren Sr. but his mother’s name is currently unknown to us at the time of filing this report. Warren shares the same parents with his elder brother, Morrison Warren Jr.
Warren was listed as one of the Top 50 ASU Football Players of All-Time in 2013 by Arizona State University (ASU). Morrison Warren Jr., his oldest brother, was one of Stanford’s first African-American scholarship student-athletes and played football there in the early 1960s.

At Bond, Schoeneck & King in Overland Park, Kansas, Warren started his legal career (1990–91). There, as an associate, he first encountered sports law. The company specialized on defending colleges accused of NCAA breaches.
The All-American defensive lineman Chris Zorich and Warren became friends in 1991 while Warren w as a professor at Notre Dame. Zorich was Warren’s first client when he opened his own sports and entertainment company, Kevin Warren & Associates, in Overland Park, Kansas, in 1992.
Will Shields, a former offensive lineman for the Kansas City Chiefs, was also represented. Warren also worked as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law while he was living in Kansas City.
Dick Vermeil, the head coach of the St. Louis Rams at the time, hired Warren in 1997 for a legal and front office post. Before being promoted to Vice President of Football Administration in 2000, Kevin Warren served as the St. Louis Rams’ Vice President of Player Programs/Football Legal Counsel from 1997 to 2000.
Warren developed an understanding of football operations through his close collaboration with Vermeil. Warren attributes his huge break into the NFL to Coach Vermeil and says that this experience has given him important information.
Warren became Senior Vice President of Business Operations & General Counsel for the Detroit Lions in 2001. Warren was named on Crain’s Detroit Business’ “40 Under 40” list, which celebrated the top 40 Detroit business executives under the age of 40, when he was playing for the Lions.
Warren left the Lions and relocated to Phoenix, where he worked for the prestigious global legal firm Greenberg Traurig. In this capacity, Warren represented the Minnesota Vikings ownership group and the Wilf family in the $600 million successful sale of the team.
In the purchase of the Vikings, Warren represented the new ownership group. Warren was subsequently employed by the Vikings in 2005 as their Executive Vice President of Legal Affairs and Chief Administrative Officer.
Roger Goodell, the commissioner of the NFL, nominated Warren to the working group on emergency preparedness in 2007. Warren received a promotion to Chief Operating Officer in February 2015. He managed all facet of the franchise’s business operations in his capacity as COO.
Warren played a key role in choosing the Vikings’ temporary home, TCF Bank Stadium, while their new $1.13 billion stadium was being built. Warren also played a key role in choosing designers, developers, and legal counsel.
The Twin Cities Orthopedic Performance Center, the Vikings’ new practice facility in Eagan that debuted in March 2018, was also built under Warren’s supervision.
On June 4, 2019, Warren was appointed Commissioner of the Big Ten Conference. Warren is the sixth commissioner of the Big Ten, succeeding Jim Delany. Warren is the first African American to hold a leadership position in the Big Ten and any of the Power Five conferences.
Warren was appointed the new team president and CEO of the Chicago Bears on January 12, 2023.
