He was in The O.C.’s last season in 2006 and guest acted in the comedy Two and a Half Men. He appeared in the 2007 direct-to-video movie Walking Tall: The Payback, a follow-up to the 2004 movie Walking Tall.

The 2012 movie Abel’s Field starred and was executive produced by Sorbo. She played a significant part in the 2011 movie Soul Surfer.

Sorbo and his wife Sam recorded the voices for several characters in the computer game Cloudberry Kingdom in July 2013. Sorbo co-starred in the 2014 Christian movie God’s Not Dead as an atheist college lecturer who demands that his students renounce their faith on the first day of class. He provided the voices for Retro Hercules in Smite and Crusher in the Skylanders series.

Sorbo starred as wizard Gojun Pye in a run of five Mythica sword-and-sorcery fantasy movies from 2014 to 2016.

On the CW show Supergirl in 2017, Sorbo played the tragic King Lar Gand of Daxam. Teri Hatcher played his wife Queen Rhea. They were almost cast alongside one another in Lois and Clark 24 years earlier, but Sorbo lost out to Dean Cain.

Despite appearing in the same series, Cain did not appear alongside them in any of the sequences. He also produced and featured in the Christian play Let There Be Light that same year. He will star in the 2023 biopic of Ronald Reagan opposite Dennis Quaid in the lead role.
